About the German International College
The German International College (GIC) is a one-year language and specialised subject preparation programme for further studies in Germany. It is intended for non-EU applicants who want to study at a Germany university, but do not have university entrance qualifications. Every student who completes the programme and passes the final examinations is guaranteed a place at one of our German partner universities, for a specific degree programme.
During the preparation year, all programme participants are accommodated on the Kleve (Bedburg-Hau) Campus.
The German International College begins every year in October and generally runs for ten months. Each participant receives an individual study plan at the beginning of the programme. The following subjects are taught, the combination of which depends on the specific focus of the student:
- Economic Studies
Intensive preparation for the TestAS is also integrated into the curriculum.
A two-month internship can be completed during the programme, or immediately afterwards if this is a prerequisite for further university studies.
The programme is rounded off with several examinations, which the students work towards systematically during their lectures:
- TestAS (Admission Test, in English or German)
- Language Examinations (German: DSH or TestDaF; English: IELTS – for the English programme)
- Mathematics Examination
